Sharon Benedict
1974-11-15Thank you Sheridan Riley, for keeping Sharon in your thoughts. You words were a blessing.
tribute by laurey lummusI am very protective of Sharon's memory so this entry is to clear up a few previous statements. I am sure they may not be important to anyone but me, but she was my dearest friend. We were working at the Westside YMCA as lifeguards and were hit by a drunk driver on our day off - July, 1974. We had so much fun that day, like always. We used to pull over in her VW whenever we heard a song we loved and get out and dance! She was not going into pre-med, but she would have gotten a laugh out of that. We both loathed Memorial and were quite relieved when our sentence was up. I do appreciate John Laley and the guys for putting up this memorial page. Benny, I miss you every day and I know I will see you again some day. You were the most wonderful friend anyone could have ever had.
tribute by laurey lummusIt has been many years since Sharon passed away. My memory may be wrong but I believe she passed away in an auto accident before entering Memorial. I can still see her smiling face as if it were only yesterday. She was a cheerful person and a friend to many of us. There are people and moments we experience in life that from time to time come to mind. Over the years since she left us I have remembered her for no particular reason other than she was one of us. She is not forgotten and lives on with many of us. To her family please know she had a positive impact with people.
