I did not graduate in Class of '74...but thought I could share anyway... Betsy was my big sis (Anne Terrell's) high school buddy...Betsy was always teasing me...thought I'd share one of those times for a memory of Betsy's humor... Like most young teenage girls, there were certain things I was embarrassed to buy at the big stores with the cute "sackers" (Skaggs-Albertson's or Sipes)... so I decided to privately stock up on my "monthly girl stuff" at Verle Smith's drug store (61st & Yale).  The LAST time I did that Betsy was working as the cashier and SCREAMED across the store... "HEY BECKY! YOU EXPECTING A FLOOD!!??"   Verle Smith's lost my business, but I'm sure they had fun working with Betsy. She's probably got them cracking up in Heaven while she hot rods around in her dad's muscle cars.   They''ll miss you tonight Betsy, esp Annie ...love, becky t. (Class of '76)

Besty passed away October 23, 1992.  She was married only 6 weeks.  At that time, she was the Dist. Mgr. for Carter's Infant Wear and her home ofc was the Stroud Outlet Mall.  She was headed toward Stroud when a pickup truck lost a tire and veered head on into her car.  I first knew Betsy at Nimitz the first day of 7th grade after her family had just moved here from Yukon.   As it turned out, her family lived one block away from my family.  We didn't become close friends until Sophomore year at Memorial.  We spent many, many hours criusing always in a new car.  Betsy was so much fun and so funny!  I will hear music from "our time" and it throws me back to our cruising days.   I miss her so much and think of her often.

I was one of Betsy's good friends in high school.  Betsy was always so much fun.  There were several of us that would  "cruise" in one of her cars.  Her dad was in car sales and Betsy always had a fun car for us to drive around in.  It seems to me that she went on to manage a store in Woodland Hills Mall?  I believe I heard of her passing at the 10th? reunion.  She is greatly missed and a dear friend to all of us.
