Jane Duca

It was a Friday night in the spring of 1970 near the end of 7th grade.  Rob Berry and I made the walk from our houses to Nimitz and across Joe Creek to Jane's party.  Some how Rob and I managed to locate a 6 pack of beer and we were ready to enter the real world of women, rock and roll, and trouble if we weren't careful.  You could hear the party 2 blocks before we actually saw the house.  And it was there that I saw one of the most beautiful girls in our school; Lisa Shae.  That was the good news.  The bad news was she was interested in me joining her in Jane's garage for a game of spin the bottle with a number of other couples.  I lost track of Rob as I was more worried about kissing her than anything else.  It all turned out to be fine as it marked my first extended kiss and I was on cloud nine.  Rob eventually turned up and by then, it was time to walk home.  While that party was a long time ago I still think of it from time to time, and the girl that hosted it.
